The President is acknowledging that in this weeks previous election rout that he wasn't been able to promote his economic-rescue message successfully. Obama says in an that he "stopped paying attention" to the leadership style he displayed during his run for the presidency. Obama also said he recognizes now that "leadership is not just legislation," and that "it's a matter of persuading people. And giving them confidence and bringing them together. And setting a tone. And making an argument that people can understand."."
Obama's Democrats lost control of the House in Tuesday's midterm elections, as Republicans picked up a net gain of at least 60 seats, setting up a more divided government.

This relates to government because the people who are currently running our government should be reconized and people should be aware of who they are. I'm glad that the Republicans took back some of the seats because now they will be able to balance out the drastic changes that the democrats try to make.

  1. I think that everyone should be recognized and acknowledeged, as well, if they are a part of our operating government. We need to be aware of who they are, because if we aren't, who is anyone supposed to give credit to for the things they do?

  2. That is very true. I think that the Republicans taking those 60 seats is a good thing because now are Government will be able to straighten some things out. America doesnt ever seem to recognize the good that the Republicans can do but only what Democrats do and they dont exactly make good changes.

  3. I agree with Lacie. I think that everyone should be recognized. Its good that the republicans sort of gained back some control because we don't want one party taking all the publicity and control because that could end badly. The fact that both parties are being recognized is a good thing. It's also a good thing that Obama is realizing his mistakes.
