Fort Hood suspect's hearing

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_fort_hood_shooting

In Fort Hood, Texas tons of soldiers came to the witness stand. They all pointed to an Army psychiatrist and identified him as the man who went on a deadly shooting rampage at Fort Hood last year.29 witnesses testified last week, and more soldiers are expected on the stand Monday at the start of the second week of a military hearing to determine whether Major Nidal Hasan will stand trial. Hasan, 40, an American-born Muslim, is charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in the November 5 shootings. They will decide whether he should receive the death penalty. The final decision will be made by Col. Morgan Lamb, a Fort Hood brigade commander appointed to oversee judicial matters in Hasan's case.
I think that Major Nidal Hasan deserves the death penilty. He turned against his own men and that is unacceptable. and the fact that he's muslim makes the motives for doing it make more since.

  1. I think he does deserve the death penalty. And I think Texas does have the death penalty. But I also wonder if maybe the Army should perform some sort of psycological evaluations for people that want to be officers that are from the middle east or other countries. I don't know if that would violate anyones rights, but it might stop some of these senceless murders. He killed and wounded so many people, it's too bad this couldn't have been prevented. Even if he would get a life sentence, someone would probably kill him in jail anyway.

  2. He does deserve the death penalty whether or not they perform a psychiatric evaluation on him. The whole "insane" plea is b.s. I think. Even though someone may have mental problems, if they are able to operate in the world, then they should get the penalty that any other person would. If they're able to talk, eat, sleep and act like a "normal" person, then they should be treated like one. This man knew what he was doing and knew that people would die as a result, he deserves the death penalty, hands down.

  3. I agree with the dealth penalty as well. Jessi made a good point with the whole "eat, sleep, and act like a normal person" idea. He obviously wasn't THAT messed up in the head. He deserves the dealth penalty just as much as any other heartless murderer.

  4. Yes, i agree with all of you. He does need the dealth penalty. He killed a bunch of people for no reason and i dont see a reason why not to kill him. I think it shouldnt matter if you claim to be insane or not because what if he get off with the insane plea and goes and does it again. It just not fair for inoccent people to lose their lifes for no reason at all.
